Abdul Rahman Asmari, Director of RG Security, has been shortlisted in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category for the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2020.
At the age of 11, Abdul arrived in the UK to join his family who were already settled here. He had many dreams that he wanted to achieve – being a doctor and a policeman at the top of the list. At 16, he realised that achieving both of those targets simultaneously was pretty difficult, if not impossible. So, he rethought his goals and came upon the idea of opening a security company – a way he could channel his two original goals into one viable vision. And just a few years later, RG Security was born. The business gives employment and a credible career path for those who may have taken a less law-abiding route but for the opportunities provided by RG Security – the policeman’s dream achieved. At the same time, as a security company, our primary goal is to spot and stop trouble before it occurs and someone gets hurt, thereby keeping people safe and healthy – a doctor's dream achieved.
Now in its third year, the awards celebrate the plethora of business excellence across the South coast. The winners in the South East division, which will be announced at the awards evening on 26thMarch, will be heading to London for the national finals. Wish Abdul luck!
