What are the Local Hero Awards?
The people of Southampton, from all walks of life, have faced up to some of the toughest challenges over the past 2 years. Many have put their lives at risk to help others, bring a little joy to someone or just help us navigate through the traumatic pandemic.
Most of these people remain unsung and unknown.
That is why RG Security has launched its Local Hero Awards, designed to recognise and celebrate the heroic individuals throughout Southampton who went the extra mile and helped their family, friends and local community get through this challenging period.
And we need your help to find these people!

How does it work?
The awards are open to anyone and work as follows:
RG Security is inviting businesses and individuals in Southampton to nominate a Local Hero across 5 categories.
This could be anyone – a carer, friend, colleague – someone that has gone above and beyond and worked tirelessly to support those in need over the last 2 years.
All entries will be publicised on our website and across our social media channels.
The 5 category winners will be decided by our judging panel and awarded a prize. An award will also be given to the overall Local Hero.

Key Worker Award
An individual who has worked on the frontline throughout the pandemic
Unsung Hero Award
An individual or business deserving of recognition
Community Volunteer Award
An individual who did something positive for their community
Community Business Award
Recognising a business for their service to the community
Companion Award
An individual that offered support to the lonely and vulnerable

How do I enter?
It is quick and easy to nominate your Local Hero. Simply fill out the form below no later than 30th June 2022.
Judging
The Local Hero will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Rules of entry
Your nomination must reside in Southampton.
Entries should be submitted via our online form.
You can nominate only one Local Hero.
By submitting your Local Hero, you agree to the publication of your submission on the RG Security website, social media platforms and other marketing channels, including but not limited to digital and printed material.
There is no entry fee for this competition.
Deadline for submissions is 30th June 2022. The winners will be announced on 29th July 2022.
